Hoshiarpur- As per the orders of Director Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Punjab and Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain IAS, under the leadership of Dr. Rajinderpal Roji, Superintendent Puneet Kumar, Probation Officer Sunil Kumar, House Father Bidar Kumar, Counselor Prashant Adia, District De-Addiction Rehabilitation Center Hoshiarpur and Sandeep Pal, an awareness workshop on drug addiction and its treatment was organized at Taher Juvenile Home and Observation Home Ram Colony Camp.
On this occasion, Counselor Prashant Adia said that by becoming a part of the campaign launched by the government under the Mission War Against Drugs, we can make an important contribution to saving the heirs of Punjab. He said that according to the World Health Organization, drug addiction is a mental illness, the treatment of which is free in government health institutions.
He gave detailed information about the causes, symptoms and diseases associated with drug addiction. He said that children should make sports and skill development courses a part of their lives so that they can stand on their own feet.
