
Punjab will formulate its own education policy and put a stop to National Education Policy-2020

On this occasion, after thorough discussions, it was decided to hold a state conference on education related concerns in Chandigarh on April 8 and submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Punjab and send a proposal related to the demands to the Governor of Punjab.

On this occasion, after thorough discussions, it was decided to hold a state conference on education related concerns in Chandigarh on April 8 and submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Punjab and send a proposal related to the demands to the Governor of Punjab.
Giving information in this regard, DTF while talking to General Secretary Mahinder Kaurwali, Joint Secretary Mukesh Kumar, District President Sukhdev Danceiwal, Secretary Indersukhdeep Singh Odra, Manjit Singh Dasuha, Baljit Singh, Manjit Singh Baba, Vipan Sanyal, Baljinder Singh, Karnail Singh, Varinder Singh, Jarnail Singh, Vinay Kumar said that in the demands related to education concerns, the decision taken by the Punjab Cabinet on 5 September 2024 should be implemented by the organization and the state's own education policy should be drafted on a scientific basis according to the local conditions of Punjab, the Punjab government should stop privatization, centralization and saffronization of education and implement the National Education Policy-2020 and National Curriculum Framework-2023, a proposal based on the demand to list education in the State List instead of the Concurrent List of the Indian Constitution should be passed in the Punjab Assembly and sent to the Central Government, Director School Education (Secondary), Director School Education (Primary) and Director State Institute of Educational Research and Training. (SCERT) posts will be filled through promotion from Punjab Civil Services cadre instead of Punjab Education Cadre, the long vacant post of Chairman Punjab School Education Board will be filled by educationists of Punjab, announcements of Education Minister and Education Secretary regarding closure of middle schools will be withdrawn and all types of vacant posts in all government schools of Punjab will be filled through promotion (75%) and direct recruitment (25%), the next outline of the struggle will be made. Besides, to resolve pending issues of teachers including issuance of pending regularization orders of Narinder Bhandari and Ravinder Kamboj, issuance of remaining regularization orders of ODL teachers, issuance of regularization orders of 13 Hindi teachers, return of pay cut letters of PTI and Art & Craft teachers, providing financial benefits to 3582 teachers from initial joining date, re-determination of selection lists of various recruitments and other issues, a Cabinet Sub-Committee will be constituted in the near future under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Education Minister Harjot Bains and Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President and Cabinet Sub-Committee member Aman Arora. In the meeting, the organization also declared that the Employees and Pensioners United Front Punjab will fully participate on the second day of the budget session of the Punjab Vidhansabha and will participate fully under the banner of Democratic Employees Federation for the demands of regularization of casual employees, restoration of old pension, release and implementation of incomplete report of Punjab Pay Commission, release of arrears of Pay Commission, release of remaining allowances etc.
