Book release and literary dialogue ceremony organized at Khalsa College Mahilpur
Mahilpur 25 February- Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur organized a literary ceremony dedicated to Punjabi Mat Bhasha Week here, on the occasion of which the book 'Shri' by expatriate poet and college alumnus Surinder Sihra was released and a literary dialogue was organized on this book.
Mahilpur 25 February- Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur organized a literary ceremony dedicated to Punjabi Mat Bhasha Week here, on the occasion of which the book 'Shri' by expatriate poet and college alumnus Surinder Sihra was released and a literary dialogue was organized on this book.
On this occasion, Professor Ajit Langeri, writer Vijay Bambeli, poet Pawan Bhamiyan and writer Santokh Singh Veer participated in the presidential discussion, while on this occasion, General Secretary of Sikh Educational Council Professor Apinder Singh Mahilpuri, retired SP Surinderjit Singh Bains, Gurnek Singh USA, writers Baljinder Mann and Roshanjit Panam were present and congratulated the Punjabi Department and the students for this event.
College Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh, while sharing the welcome words, said that the arrival of writer Surinder Sihra, who earned a name in the field of literature after getting education from the college, is a great source of inspiration for the students. On this occasion, Head of Punjabi Department Dr. JB Sekhon shared information about the activities organized by the department and expressed his views on the contribution of this book of Surinder Sihra in the diaspora Punjabi poetry.
On this occasion, Professor Ajit Langeri made the students aware of the qualities of good poetry by giving examples of the language and style of Surinder Sihra's ghazals. On this occasion, writer Vijay Bambali emphasized on the students to adopt a lifestyle with scientific awareness in the context of the poems of the book. Poet Pawan Pammiyan expressed serious views on the subject matter of this book.
Writer Santokh Singh Veer said valuable words about the struggling life and literary journey of Surinder Sihra. On this occasion, Surinder Sihra shared his views on the creation process of this book and gave informative answers to the questions asked by the students about the characteristics of good poetry and the concerns of diaspora Punjabi poetry.
On this occasion, college students Monica, Arshpreet, Priyanshu, Harveer Mann, Jai Sharma and Prince presented their poems on social concerns. The stage was conducted by Prof. Balveer Kaur. The organizers honored the present writers and students by presenting them plants and books.
In the end, Dr. Prabhjot Kaur thanked the dignitaries present. On this occasion, Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Jasdeep Kaur, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Nancy, Prof. Mandeep Gautam and other college students were present.
