The monthly meeting of Sahitya Vigyan Kendra was held on Sunday, 23 February, 2025 at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh, which was presided over by Dr. Charanjit Kaur ji (former State Liaison Officer). Mrs. Raminder Walia ji (famous poetess) Canada was the chief guest and Mrs. Sandeep Kaur Jaswal ji (famous poetess) attended as a special guest.
The mother of Mrs. Simarjit Kaur Grewal ji, a very loyal member of our center, and the younger son of Mrs. Amarjit Kaur Morinda ji had passed away, so first of all two minutes of silence was observed to pay tribute to those departed souls. Thereafter, the Executive President of the organization, Mrs. Paramjit Kaur Param ji welcomed the guests and gave detailed information about the entire program and the personalities to be honored in the presidential meeting.
The program started with the song of Ratan Babak Wala ji. Dr. Rajinder Renu, Harjeet Singh and Manjeet Kaur Mohali presented compositions related to the spring season to the audience. Surinder Bhogal (Chingari) and Pratap Paras sang very emotional songs about daughters. Bharpoor Singh, Surinder Gill and Malkit Basra made their presence felt with their wonderful compositions depicting the reality of the current environment.
Gurdas Das Ji presented his song with Tuba which was commendable. Balwinder Dhillon and Labh Singh Lehli ji received applause by singing songs in their high voices. Malkit Nagra presented Sant Ram Udaasi Ji's composition related to Bhagat Ravidas Ji. Charanjit Kaler, Raj Kumar Sahowalia, Baldev Singh Bindra, Jasvir Singh, Sunil Mand, Dhyan Singh Kahlon, Sarabjit Singh Ji enthralled the audience with their beautiful songs. Harbhajan Kaur Dhillon and famous lyricist and singer Amar Virdi ji enthralled the audience with their songs and voice.
Davinder Kaur Dhillon sang Smt. Raminder Walia's song 'Saiyo Ni Koi Mohar Liyavo' in Tarannum. Pal Ajnabi made his presence felt with a very beautiful Ghazal. Apart from this, Harbans Sodhi, Smt. Davinder Bath, Surinder Deol Sampla, Munish Virdi, Raj Rani, Harsh Dev, Karanjit Chandwal and Ashok ji participated in this program.
Famous poetess Smt. Sandeep Kaur Jaswal ji, who attended today's program as a special guest, said in front of the audience that I felt this program like poetry recital and said that I want the feeling to remain alive and well like this and also shared her very powerful compositions 'Kiyon Ki Main Rab Nahi Hoon' and Living Relationship with the audience.
Mrs. Raminder Walia, who attended as the chief guest, congratulated the entire team of Sahitya Vigyan Kendra for running the entire event so well and shared her words with the audience, 'Perhaps now true love is no more and all the relationships have become selfish'. She also felicitated some members of the organization.
Dr. Charanjit Kaur, who was presiding, said very interesting and important things and said that today I got a chance to attend this literary gathering after a long time and all the songs sung by the lyricists were so good and powerful that all of them should be recorded.
She said that it is also very important to take care of time in every event. In the end, Dr. Avtar Singh Patang thanked all the litterateurs, poets and lyricists who had come. The stage was conducted very well by Davinder Kaur Dhillon.
