Hoshiarpur- Every possible effort will be made to make the Mandis of the district a model. In the first phase of which, efforts are being started to improve drinking water, sewerage system and cleanliness campaign in the Mandis. This idea was expressed by Hoshiarpur MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal while addressing the traders from the grain market and vegetable market as well as other Mandis of the area in the office of Market Committee Hoshiarpur.
On this occasion, District Mandi Officer Gurkripal Singh, Market Committee Secretary Vinod Sharma, Dr. Pankaj Shiv were also present. He said that the state government is committed to providing every possible facility to the farmers and traders. He said that he has come here to serve and his effort will be to develop the main grain market and vegetable market of Hoshiarpur as well as other Mandis of the area as modern Mandis of the state.
On this occasion, the representatives of the commission agents requested him that the plots being sold in the Mandi are not being sold because the reserve price fixed by the Mandi Board is very high, therefore, he assured that he will talk to the government and Mandi Board officials to reduce it.
Responding to the questions of the grain market commission agents, he said that he will try that the commission agents get the assistance amount from the state government in their newly built commission agents soon. Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that an application will be made to the government to provide modern facilities to the farmers in all the 22 centers coming under Hoshiarpur Market Committee.
He said that the Market Committee will get development work worth crores of rupees done in the villages without any political bias. During this, he also distributed relief cheques received from the Market Committee to the farmers who were injured while doing agricultural work. Earlier, on reaching the Market Committee office, the officials of the Commission Agents Association Grain Market and Vegetable Market and Market Committee welcomed him warmly.
