Counseling and awareness help desk set up at Bhagwan Valmiki Interstate Bus Terminal under Nasha Mukt Punjab Mission Smile

Hoshiarpur- Under the Nasha Mukt Mission Punjab Smile 2.0, the district administration has started counseling and awareness campaign through help desks at public places with the aim of making people aware about the ill effects of drug addiction and providing information to get rid of addiction.

Under the campaign, today the District Drug Detoxification Rehabilitation Society set up a help desk at the local Bhagwan Valmiki Interstate Bus Terminal Hoshiarpur and informed more than 98 people about the harm caused to health and society by drug addiction.
The help desk was inaugurated at Bhagwan Valmiki Interstate Bus Terminal Hoshiarpur under the leadership of Punjab Roadways General Manager Jasvir Singh and Station Supervisor Manoj Kumar and called upon the people present to unite against the evil of drug addiction and work to eradicate it from its roots. He said that the De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center is running successfully in the district where people suffering from drug addiction are treated and motivated to lead a healthy life.
He said that by 28 February, these help desks will be set up at various public places in the district where experts will make people aware and provide necessary information. Councillor Prashant Adia said that this campaign will continue till 28 February during which people will be made aware and those who have fallen prey to drug addiction will be given information about de-addiction and treatment.
He said that in the District Drug Rehabilitation Center started in the year 2015, along with proper arrangements for de-addiction, training of vocational courses is also being given so that the affected people can quit drugs and start their own employment. In this center, with the efforts of the Honorable Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur, an initiative will be started to make the youth stand on their feet by getting them to do certificate vocational courses.
Our effort is that let's run a campaign to save the heirs of Punjab's youth, let's run a drug-free Punjab. Apart from Councillor Rajwinder Kaur, other officers were also present on this occasion.
