Free eye check-up camp organized in village Attawa, about 300 people got their eyes checked.
Chandigarh:- A free eye check-up camp was organized today at the government dispensary of village Attawa under the aegis of Society for Care of the Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The camp was organized under the guidance of Mr. Jasbir Singh Bunty, Senior Deputy Mayor and Ward Councillor and with the cooperation and coordination of Ophthalmology Department, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh.

The camp was organized under the guidance of Mr. Jasbir Singh Bunty, Senior Deputy Mayor and Ward Councillor and with the cooperation and coordination of Ophthalmology Department, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh Congress President Harmohinder Singh Lucky was specially present on this occasion. Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Taruna Mehta, Councillors Premlata and Dilawar Singh etc. were also present. During this, tests and examinations like dental checkup, physiotherapy, BP, sugar, TV test and X-ray along with general medicine etc. were also conducted.
Vice President of Society for Care of the Blind Dinesh Kapila said that the free eye check-up camp was organized in village Attawa so that the people of the village can get the benefit of free eye check-up and other medical facilities at their doorstep. The number of people who took benefit of this free checkup camp exceeded 275. Free spectacles were also provided to many people in the eye checkup camp.
Residents who require cataract operation will be facilitated with this facility in coordination with the Ophthalmology Department, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32. The Ophthalmology Department of GMCH Sector 32 is a vital partner towards fulfilling the mandate of the Society for Care of the Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
Senior Deputy Mayor Mr. Jasbir Singh Bunty expressed his deep satisfaction over the organization of the camp at Attawa. The councillor also informed that a health camp, a physiotherapy consultation camp, a TB checkup camp and a dental checkup camp were also organized today.
Ms. Suparna Sachdev, Honorary Secretary coordinated the organization of the camp along with Mrs. Prem Girdhar, Member Standing Committee and Mrs. Anita Jayra, Joint Secretary. Mr. Jeevan Rai Chodha, Member Standing Committee also attended the camp.
