Nawanshahr- Children's sports and cultural competitions were organized in Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar Nawanshahr. These were organized by Professor Sangha Gurbakhsh Kaur (Dr.) of Babbar Akali Memorial College. These competitions were of race, poetry, song, comedy and dance.
In 100 meter race (Group A-5 to 8 years age) Mohammad Arshad, Ankush, Anmol stood first, second and third respectively. In Group B (age group 9-12 years) Payal, Janvi and Avneet stood first, second and third respectively. In 200 meter race (Group A age group 5-8) Jiya, Riya and Arshita stood first, second and third respectively.
In Group B (age group 9-12 years) Payal, Janvi and Lovepreet stood first, second and third respectively. In Limping Race (Boys) Love stood first and Arshad stood second. In girls competition, Avneet, Payal, Janvi came first, second and third respectively. In Lemon Race (Girls), Jiya, Lovejeet, Janvi came first, second and third respectively. Boys: Lavi came first and Dhruv came second.
Prizes were also distributed to the winning children. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Sangha Gurbakhsh Kaur said that the government should focus on making parks and playgrounds in the areas, where children can develop their sports and cultural arts. She gave the message to the children to work hard according to their interest and encouraged them.
