Kapurthala (Paigam-E-Jagat)- The local PM Shri Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School Ghanta Ghar Kapurthala organized an annual prize distribution and cultural function based on the performance of the children throughout the year. In which the Chairman of the School Management Committee, International Poet Kanwar Iqbal Singh, Member, Science and Technology Department, Chandigarh (Punjab Government) and Shri Massa Singh Sidhu, Former District Education Officer, Kapurthala, participated as the Chief Guest and Special Guest respectively. The function was presided over by the School Principal Shri Navchetan Singh, Mrs. Poonam Sharma Vice Principal, Shri Sukhwinder Singh DM Sports and Shri Narinder Kumar Lecturer.
The school girls presented Punjabi folk dances and songs as part of the cultural program. In the field of studies, Miss Prabhjot Kaur, Sobatpreet Kaur and Jasmine Kaur of Arts Group, Miss Gurmehak Kaur and Miss Harleen Kaur in Science Group, Miss Prabhjot Kaur in Commerce Group, Arshdeep Kaur and Muskan in Vocational Group (Commercial Garment Making), Miss Simranpreet Kaur Randhawa in Vocational Group (Food Preservation) secured the first position respectively.
Miss Dolsi, Tanvi, Sanjana and Miss Arshdeep Kaur were given the best student award for their achievements in various activities.
The main attraction of the event was the presentation of a beautiful poem by International Poet Kanwar Iqbal Singh, Chairman SMC Committee, who presented the popular song "Meri Reezh Puga De Ni Ammiy, Main Vekh Sakan Sansar Maayen...", which made the eyes of the audience watery. And also Kanwar Iqbal Singh Ji said during his address that the Punjab government is committed to further raising the standard of government schools.
During the event, Mr. Massa Singh Sidhu, former District Education Officer Kapurthala and School Principal Mr. Navchetan Singh motivated the girls to achieve good positions in studies under Mission Shat-Pratisht. Madam Sandeep Kaur, Lecturer Punjabi, played the role of stage management through songs depicting cultural and social customs. The event was covered by the media team of the school working under the leadership of Kulwinder Singh Kairon, Miss Drishti, Miss Jaspreet Kaur and camera man Miss Muskan.
