SAS Nagar, Feb 14 (Saba) The team of Ex-Serviceman Grievance Cell (Regd) led by the President of the organization Lt. Col. SS Sohi (Retd.) felicitated former Kargil War veteran Harjinder Singh for risking his life to save 5 people from drowning.
On this occasion, a cake was cut in honour of Harjinder Singh and sweets were served to all. Speaking on the occasion, Lt. Col. SS Sohi (Retd.) said that Harjinder Singh had risked his life to save the people in a car that fell into the canal recently and even before this he had saved many people from drowning in the canal.
On this occasion, Harjinder Singh told that on the day of the incident, he was returning from a wedding ceremony with his family and a Scorpio car was going ahead of him. He told that suddenly the car in front of him disappeared from the road and he realized that the car was stuck in the canal.
He told that when he stopped the car and saw that the Scorpio was stuck in the canal and the people in the car were shouting for help. He told that he got down in the canal with his two sons and somehow broke the glass of the Scorpio car and started taking out the people in the car.
During this, after a lot of hard work, he managed to take 5 people in the car to the shore, while one person had died due to drowning.
