Patiala, February 3- Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) Regional Office, Patiala has conducted extensive inspection at various places in Patiala district to stop sale and purchase of banned China Door.
Engineer Mohit Bisht, SDO, PPCB informed that Engineer Vinod Singla, JEE Regional Office, PPCB, Patiala and Engineer Harmanjit Singh JEE along with Municipal Corporation officials inspected Tibba Basti in Patran, Public School Road, Kitab Market in Patiala, Achar Bazaar, Safabadi Gate Bend Street, Dhani Ram Bazaar near Gandhi Ground in Samana Tehsil.
During inspection of Old Rajpura, Rajbaha Road, MLA Road, Rajpura Town in Rajpura Tehsil, China Door was not found for sale at any shop and the concerned shopkeepers were appealed not to sell banned China Door. Also, PPCB has appealed to the people not to use banned China thread/manjha/nylon/synthetic thread for flying kites.
The board has sought cooperation from the people and said that if anyone sells, stores, supplies, imports or uses China thread, then information about it can be given to Punjab Pollution Control Board by calling toll-free helpline 1800-180-2810 from 9 am to 5 pm.
