World Wetlands Day celebrated under Environmental Education Program at Khalsa College Gadhshankar

During this, a documentary film on Harike Pattan Wildlife Sanctuary was shown to the students in which analytical information was given about the importance of wetlands, their role in biodiversity and conservation measures. After this, the students visited the nearby village Mehtabpur under the guidance of teachers. On this occasion, they discussed the importance of local wetlands and water resources.
On this occasion, the need for conservation of wetlands, highlighting their role in biodiversity and the need to conserve wetlands for the protection of birds and aquatic species was discussed with the students. The teachers present also gave scientific information to the students about the conservation of wetlands and its effects on the ecosystem.
College Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira praised this initiative organized by various departments and said that making students aware about saving natural resources and motivating them to protect the environment is the need of the hour. On this occasion, Dr. Manbir Kaur, Dr. Arvinder Singh, Dr. Naresh Kumari, Prof. Ashwani Kumar, lab attendant Hardeep Singh, Jaspal Singh were present along with the students.
