S.A.S. Nagar, February 1 – Basant Panchami festival was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Shastri Model School Phase 1 Mohali. On this day, the students worshipped Maa Saraswati and prayed for their good education and future.
After worshipping Maa Saraswati, the children sang bhajans and songs in praise of Saraswati. On this occasion, the school principal Mrs. R. Bala also participated in the worship of Maa Saraswati and wished the children to pass the annual examinations with good marks.
After this, a kite flying competition was organized in the school. The children flew colorful kites and had fun. During this, sweet rice was also distributed among the children.
School Manager Mr. Rajnish Sewak said that various activities are organized in the school from time to time so that the children get away from their mobile phones and stay connected with their heritage and remember Indian culture.
