
Family of novelist Nanak Singh donates his personal belongings to Bhasha Vibhag Punjab
Patiala, Jan 30- The family of renowned writer Nanak Singh (late) has donated some of his personal belongings to Bhasha Vibhag Punjab. A separate section for personal belongings of Shri Nanak Singh has been set up in the library located in Bhasha Bhawan Patiala under the leadership of Director of the Department Jaswant Singh Zafar.
Patiala, Jan 30- The family of renowned writer Nanak Singh (late) has donated some of his personal belongings to Bhasha Vibhag Punjab. A separate section for personal belongings of Shri Nanak Singh has been set up in the library located in Bhasha Bhawan Patiala under the leadership of Director of the Department Jaswant Singh Zafar.
This new section was inaugurated yesterday in the presence of Karamveer Singh Suri, grandson of Shri Nanak Singh. Joint Director Harpreet Kaur, Deputy Director Harbhajan Kaur, Assistant Directors Amarinder Singh, Alok Chawla and Surinder Kaur, Superintendents Bhupinderpal Singh and Swarnjit Kaur, Research Assistants Harpreet Singh, Gurjit Singh, Manjinder Singh, Neha and Jagmel Singh were present on the occasion.
Director of the Department Jaswant Singh Zafar said that this new initiative has been taken by the Department to preserve the memorabilia and personal belongings of famous writers. With the cooperation of the writers and their families, other such efforts will also be made and the department will gradually establish a kind of museum of the items related to the writers.
Karamveer Singh Suri said that this effort made by the Language Department is commendable. He also thanked the department for preserving the items of Shri Nanak Singh in a beautiful manner. Joint Director Harpreet Kaur thanked Karamveer Singh Suri and his family.
