Una, January 30- District Disaster Management Authority and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued an advisory regarding kite flying and the use of Chinese string. He said that the manufacture, sale and use of Chinese string is illegal. If anyone sells it, then make sure to inform the police or the concerned officer. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Chinese string and string used for kite flying are very dangerous for humans as well as animals and birds. Chinese string is very strong because it is made of glass, plastic, mixed metal. Due to Chinese string, there is a danger of the wings and neck of birds flying in the sky getting entangled in the string and getting cut. Many bike and scooter riders also get caught in this string, due to which there is a high risk of injury to the face and a high risk of throat being cut. Apart from this, due to the presence of metal in the Chinese string, there is also a possibility of incidents like short circuit and electric shock by getting entangled in the electric wires.

He said that while flying kites, use only traditional string made of cotton or cotton thread. Fly kites only in open fields or safe places, avoid kite flying near roads or electric wires. Bike riders should use helmets and face covers. If someone gets injured by the string, give them first aid immediately and take them to the hospital if needed.
The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the people of the district to fly kites in a safe and environmentally friendly manner so that the safety of themselves as well as others can be ensured.
