On this occasion, the dignitaries of the villages and cities of Patiala district held a meeting with the top police officers and took a pledge to eradicate drugs from the district.
It may be mentioned that as part of the ongoing operation against drug traffickers, public meetings are being held by the Punjab Police as part of 'prevention' to spread awareness among the people about the deadly effects of drugs and to seek the cooperation of the common people in the war against drugs.
During the meeting, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Patiala Range, Harcharan Singh Bhullar said that awareness campaign is also necessary to eradicate drug addiction. With this purpose, along with Kaso Abhiyan, 'Mission Support' has also been started in the district Because the cooperation of ordinary citizens is very important for the complete elimination of drugs. He said that if anyone has any information about the drug dealer, he should share it with the police and the name of the person sharing the information will be kept confidential. He said that after every 15 days a district level meeting will be held to discuss the action taken on the suggestions received during the first meeting.
SSP Varun Sharma said that the main purpose of starting 'Mission Sahaya' in the district is to involve every citizen in the campaign against drugs by the Punjab Police. He said that 'Mission Sanayah' will play an important role in making the district drug free. He said that such meetings will be held at sub-division level, block level and police station level as well So that the support of every citizen can be taken in this war against drugs. On this occasion, people from all over the district also gave their suggestions for the eradication of drugs.
