Hoshiarpur- The Municipal Corporation has taken strict steps to ban the use and sale of single-use plastic. Giving information in this regard, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Dr. Amandeep Kaur said that as per the instructions of the Government of India and the National Green Tribunal, Delhi, a complete ban has been imposed on the use and sale of single-use plastic. 
The Commissioner said that the Sanitary Branch of the Municipal Corporation and the officers of the Punjab Pollution Control Board jointly conducted an inspection campaign. During this, strict action was taken against those using and selling single-use plastic. All single-use plastic goods were seized on the spot and three challans were issued with fines as per the rules prescribed by the government. 
The Commissioner Municipal Corporation appealed to the city residents to completely stop the use of single-use plastic and contribute to making the city clean and environment-friendly.
