MGNREGA Workers Union Block Garhshankar submitted a memorandum to BDPO Garhshankar regarding the rights of the workers.

Garhshankar 28 January- Today, MNREGA Workers Union Block Garhshankar, under the chairmanship of General Secretary Bhupinder Singh, submitted a memorandum to BDPO Mrs. Manjinder Kaur regarding the legitimate and valid demands of the workers and demanded that the organization be given time to discuss the demands. The BDPO assured that time will be given for a meeting on the memorandum soon.

Main demands:
1:- Due to rivalry in the Panchayat elections, the MATs working under MNREGA in the villages are being removed, which the organization opposed. To save the MATs from becoming victims of political rivalry, they should not be removed from work.
2:- Efforts should be made to get the workers to work throughout the year and the works under the Panchayats should be done under the MNREGA scheme.
3:- MNREGA workers should be given loans to work.
4:- First aid kits should be arranged. Proper compensation should be arranged in case of serious injury etc.
5:- Free insurance of workers should be done. 6:- MNREGA workers should be given work for at least 100 days.
7:- In case of not getting work, they should be given unemployment allowance.
8:- The condition of working for 100 days on mates should be abolished and they should be given work for the whole year.
9:- The dismissed mates should be reinstated. Other demands should be fulfilled.
Ramjidas Chauhan, Kulbhushan Kumar Mahindwani, Shingara Ram Bhajal, Chaman Lal, Makhan Singh, Raj Kumar, Balveer Singh, Gyan Chand, Nirmal Kumar, Des Raj Dagam and Ramaljit Kaur etc. were present while submitting the demand letter.
