Patiala, April 8: Shiv Sena District Vice President Ramandeep Happy has demanded the Punjab Government to take necessary steps to ensure safety of Baba Sahib Dr. Ambedkar's statues in Punjab.
Referring to the incident of writing anti-national slogans on the statue of Baba Sahib Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in village Nangal of Phillaur Tehsil, he demanded that Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, who took responsibility of this incident, be booked under SC/ST Act 1989 and sedition charges. Red Corner Notice should be issued against him and he should be brought to India through Indian Central Agencies and given appropriate punishment by taking legal action against him.
He also demanded installation of CCTV cameras to ensure safety of Baba Sahib Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's statues located at various places in the state so that no anti-social elements can carry out such incidents in future.
