
Punjabi University archer Harvinder Singh to be honoured with 'Padma Shri' award
Patiala, January 27- The Government of India has announced to honour Punjabi University archer Harvinder Singh with 'Padma Shri' award. It is noteworthy that Harvinder Singh has recently won a gold medal in the Paralympic Games held in Paris.

He is doing his research as a Ph.D. researcher in the Department of Economics of the University. Harvinder Singh is a resident of Kaithal district of Haryana. He won a bronze medal in the Paralympic Games held in Tokyo, Japan in 2020. He also won a gold medal in the Asian Para Games held in Jakarta in 2018.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Narinder Kaur Multani said that the University is proud of this talented player. She said that Harvinder Singh has brought laurels to himself and Punjabi University all over the world with his achievements. Registrar Prof. Sanjeev Puri said that Harvinder Singh has brought glory to himself and Punjabi University by receiving this national level award.
Director of Sports Department Prof. Ajita said that Harvinder's reaching the national level award and winning international medals on the basis of his achievements is proof that with high morale and hard work, all kinds of challenges can be overcome.
