Nawanshahr/Banga- Sikh National College Banga celebrated Lohri festival with great pomp under the guidance of Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder and with the cooperation of the entire staff. At the beginning of the program, the Principal, staff and students lit the fire of Lohri by putting tilchauli and wished that God blesses the poor and the needy.

At the beginning of the program, the Principal, staff and students lit the fire of Lohri by putting tilchauli and wished that God blesses the poor and the needy.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder, while extending his best wishes on the occasion of Lohri, said that in today's society, there has been a revolution of ending the difference between sons and daughters and celebrating the birth of both, in which the educated class has played an important role and this has made the heads of Punjabis rise even higher with pride.
On this occasion, he also discussed the background of Lohri and said that the festival of Lohri is also associated with the wish for prosperity of Rabi crop, the work done by Lok Nayak Dulla Bhatti for poor and needy daughters, protector of honor and respect, etc. Giving a musical touch to the program, students Shahid Ali, Inderpreet Kaur, Yuvraj Sidhu, Adi, Simran along with their friends and with the help of Prof. Gurpreet Singh also organized a musical mehfil in which the students entertained the audience by singing traditional songs of Lohri.
The entire program was conducted by Dr. Nirmaljit Kaur and she said that we have to celebrate every festival recognizing the importance of festivals in our life, because every festival has some message attached to it, which has to be inculcated in human life. While celebrating Lohri, laddoos, peanuts and rice cakes were distributed to all the staff and students and all the staff enjoyed the festival by sitting around the Lohri fire.
On this occasion, all the staff and students including Prof. Abid Waqar, Dr. Harjot Singh, Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur, Dr. Sunidhi Miglani, Prof. Amrit Kaur and Paramjit Singh (Superintendent) were present.
