Lohri festival celebrated in government health institutions of the district

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 13: Lohri festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in government health institutions of the district. On this occasion, health officials distributed Lohri gifts to newborn babies and their mothers in hospitals and wished them Lohri.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain and Principal of Medical College Dr. Bhavneet Bharti distributed Lohri gifts to newborn babies and their mothers in the district hospital. Asha workers were also felicitated and sweaters were given. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sangeeta Jain said that the festival of Lohri strengthens social harmony and it is also important because it gives the message of treating girls as equal to boys.
She said that due to the sincere efforts of the Health Department, there has been a significant change in the mindset of people towards daughters. She said that the Punjab Government is successfully implementing many schemes for the welfare of girls, which aim to further improve the sex ratio. Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Renu Singh, District Vaccination Officer Dr. Girish Dogra, SMO Dr. Vijay Bhagat and other officers were present on this occasion.
