Ludhiana- The 53rd Annual Sports Festival of Government College Karamsar, Rara Sahib was organised under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Mohammad Irfan Ji and guidance of Sports Incharge Prof. Sukhjit Singh. The function was inaugurated by Sant Baba Baljinder Singh Ji Rara Sahib. Dr. Mohammad Jameel Bali attended the inaugural function as a special guest.
Sant Baba Baljinder Singh Ji, while addressing the students, said that students should pay attention to other activities along with sports. All-round development of personality is possible with this effort. It is noteworthy that the students of the college participated in many competitions like running, long jump, high jump, shot put and achieved success.
The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Honorable MLA of Payal constituency Engr. Manvinder Singh Gyaspura and State Awardee Madam Shakooran Begum participated as a special guest on this occasion. In the girls' event, Savita Rani, a student of the college, emerged as the best athlete, while in the boys' event, Dhanveer Singh and Bhavdeep Singh jointly bagged the honour of being the best athlete.
In the service staff, Dharamjit Singh, Balwinder Singh and Deepak came first, second and third respectively. In the musical chair race, Manvinder Singh Giaspura came first, Principal Dr. Mohammad Irfan came second and Sarpanch Mandeep Singh Bhikhi came third. In the teaching staff race, Sukhveer Kaur Boparai came first, Prof. Lavina Khan came second and Prof. Poonam came third.
The famous sports promoter Master Bhupinder Singh Ghaloti was specially felicitated for his efforts towards the college. Prof. Jagdeep Singh provided technical support in this event very sincerely. The stage management of the event was done by Prof. Inderpal Singh and Prof. Varinder Singh did a wonderful job.
On this occasion former Principal of the college Mr. Harmesh Lal, Professor Prakash Singh, Professor Rupinder Kaur Grewal, Dr. Charagdin Malik, Dr. Siraj Bali, Mrs. Jameela Bhatti, Mrs. Farida, Mr. Furqan, Jobi, Nazia, Sabaz, Sarpanch Davinder Singh Rara Sahib, Sarpanch Mandeep Singh Katahari, Sarpanch Mandeep Singh Bhikhi, Sarpanch Harvinder Singh Ghangas, Sarpanch Jagjit Singh Karamsar, Sarpanch Lucky Aujla, Sarpanch Gharala Pargat Singh Siyar, former Sarpanch Davinder Singh Jhabewal, Prof. Hargur Pratap Singh, Prof. Vineet Kumar, Prof. Alok Shukla were present in a dignified manner.
