
Deputy Chief Minister handed over the keys of e-taxi to the beneficiary of Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Startup Scheme
Una, January 4- Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri handed over the keys of an e-taxi to Ashok Kumar, a beneficiary of the Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Startup Yojana of Haroli Assembly constituency on Saturday. Ashok Kumar has taken an e-taxi on government subsidy under this scheme, which has been installed in the Jal Shakti Department in Una district and a salary of Rs 50,000 per month has been fixed for him. The Deputy Chief Minister gave his best wishes to Ashok while handing over the keys of the e-taxi in Gondpur Jaichand.

Mr Agnihotri said that the Himachal government is continuously working to provide self-employment opportunities to the youth. For this, Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Startup Yojana of Rs 680 crore has been launched. With the benefits of the scheme, many youth are moving forward on the path of self-reliance. Along with giving the youth the strength of self-employment, this scheme will prove to be a milestone in holistic and green development and making the state pollution free.
It is noteworthy that the Himachal government has made a provision of subsidy for the youth on purchasing e-taxi under Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Startup Yojana. The beneficiaries are being provided 50 percent subsidy and bank loan at the rate of 7.9 percent interest on 40 percent. Only the remaining 10 percent money is given by the beneficiary. The government has made a provision to provide 50 thousand rupees per month to the beneficiaries by attaching these taxis with government departments.
At the same time, 44-year-old Ashok Kumar of Dulahad expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri for the youth-friendly scheme. He told that earlier he used to drive a private taxi, but the high oil prices and tough competition were taking a toll on him. In such a situation, he came to know about the Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Startup Scheme of Himachal Government. He applied for e-taxi on the portal of the Labor and Employment Department. After all the procedures and approvals, he has purchased an e-taxi, which has been linked with the Jal Shakti Department, this has become the basis of his happy life.
