Four-day training camp organized on goat rearing

Una, January 3- Krishi Vigyan Kendra Una organized a four-day training camp on goat rearing. 20 livestock farmers of the district participated in the camp. The Animal Husbandry Department had a special contribution in organizing this training. During the training camps, the coordinator of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. Yogita Sharma said that to promote goat rearing, the present government provides a subsidy of 25 to 33 percent under the NRLM project so that more and more farmers, women and youth can adopt goat rearing as an enterprise and strengthen their economy.

In the first session of the training camp, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Vinay Sharma gave information about the goat rearing related schemes being run by the department. He encouraged the trainees and motivated them to take maximum benefit of the schemes of the department. He also informed the trainees about the success of goat units established in the district.
Animal husbandry expert of the center, Dr. Deepali Kapoor said that information was given on all aspects of goat rearing in the camp. Giving special importance to goat nutrition, she gave practical training to the animal breeders participating in the training camp on balanced feed, green fodder production, Azolla growing technique, increasing nutrients in dry fodder, etc.
Veterinary Officer Dr. Radhika gave information on goat breeds and breeding management suitable for Una district and Dr. Ankush gave information on major diseases of goats and their prevention. Apart from this, the trainees visited Ajay Jaswal's goat farm in Kathoh where practical information on goat rearing was given by Dr. Abhinav Rana.
Participants from Una Block and commercial goat rearers Sanjeev, Pawan and Rajkumar from Bangana said that through this training camp they not only got the technical knowledge but also the proper steps to be taken in goat rearing.
In the closing ceremony of the training, Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Vinay Sharma gave certificates to all the trainees and also gave a copy of the booklet published by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Una on goat rearing.
