
Bhagwant Mann government to upgrade infrastructure of Verka plant outlets in Punjab- Milkfed Chairman Narinder Singh Shergill
Mohali - Punjab Milkfed Chairman Narinder Singh Shergill said here today that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is working on updating the infrastructure of existing Verka outlets outside 10 major Verka milk plants in the state.

Talking to reporters after attending a religious function at Verka Milk Plant Mohali on the first day of New Year, Chairman Shergill said that Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has modernized the existing outlets selling Verka products outside the ten main plants.
He said that apart from upgrading the Verka outlets, the Bhagwant Mann government is also focusing on modernization and upgradation of Verka milk plants in the state. Chairman Narinder Shergill said that the Mohali Verka Plant is being expanded at a cost of Rs 325 crore to increase its capacity.
Earlier, Amritsar and Jalandhar plants have also been modernized and upgraded at a cost of Rs 80 crore each. Similarly, infrastructure of both the feed plants of Milkfed is also being upgraded. He said that in the coming days, the project constructed at a cost of Rs 160 crore will be dedicated to the people by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann Verka.
He said that Milkfed is working tirelessly to uplift the economic condition of milk producers by giving them better price for their milk. Additionally, the existing salary structure is being maintained to secure the jobs of employees working in milk plants.
Milkfed MD Rahul Gupta was also present with him on the occasion.
