83rd session of Indian History Congress concluded, more than 1300 delegates attended

Patiala, December 31- The 83rd session of the 'Indian History Congress' held at Punjabi University concluded successfully last night. Giving information about this, local secretary Prof. Mohammad Idris said that more than 1300 delegates including prominent historians, scholars and researchers participated in this session. He said that this session was organized under the leadership of General Secretary of Indian History Congress Prof.

Giving information about this, local secretary Prof. Mohammad Idris said that more than 1300 delegates including prominent historians, scholars and researchers participated in this session. He said that this session was organized under the leadership of General Secretary of Indian History Congress Prof. Gautam Sengupta and Secretary Prof. Nadeem Ali Rizvi.
He said that during the session, 'Mishra Memorial Lecture' was given by Prof. Yogesh Snehi. Prof. Idris said that Professor Irfan Habib, while giving the keynote address through online medium, threw light on the long history of Punjab. Similarly, many prominent historians including Professor Indu Banga also raised important points in the panel on the past and present of Punjab.
He said that a special seminar was also organized on the use of artistic representations in historical research. Speakers at the seminar included Professor Seema Bawa from Delhi University, Professor Urvi Mukhopadhyay from West Bengal State University and Dr. Anjali Duhan from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak who discussed various aspects related to the subject. A business meeting was held on the last day in which the new President for the 84th session of the Indian History Congress was announced.
