
PPCB seizes 35 kg of single-use plastic and carry bags and issues 25 challans
Patiala, December 24- The regional office of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) along with the officials of the Municipal Corporation and Nagar Panchayats of Devigarh, Bhadson and Nabha conducted a joint checking campaign against those selling single-use plastic, plastic carry bags and China doors.

During the campaign, Municipal Corporation Health Officer Dr. Navinder, Sanitary Inspector Mohit Jindal, Sanitary Inspector Randhir Singh, Sanitary Inspector Vikas Chaudhary, Sanitary Inspector Pankaj Kumar, SDO, PPCB Dharamvir Singh, JEE, PPCB Harmanjit Singh and SDO, PPCB Mohit Singla were present in the team. During the inspection, a total of 35 kg of single-use plastic and carry bags were seized by the teams, out of which 20 kg were recovered from Patiala, 10 kg from Devigarh and 5 kg from Bhadson. Along with this, 25 challans were issued.
Environmental Engineer Gurkaran Singh said that orders have already been issued under Section 163 by the District Magistrate Patiala to ban those who stock and sell China doors. The Punjab Pollution Control Board has appealed to the people to cooperate in creating a pollution-free environment and refrain from using single-use plastic. Strict action will be taken against the violators.
