Garhshankar- Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar, which is being run under the management of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, is dedicated to the unparalleled martyrdom of Mata Gujar Kaur and Sahibzadey; After organizing a Gurmat Samagam at the College Gurdwara Sahib on the orders of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Sukhminder Singh, Director Education, a Gurmat Chetna March was organized from the College. It passed through different parts of the city and ended at Gurdwara Singh Sabha. During the Gurmat Samagam at the College, after the chanting of Sri Japji Sahib and Sri Chaupai Sahib; Student Prince Singh entertained the congregation with Katha and Prof Raideep Singh with Kirtan. On this occasion, former MLA and SGPC member contractor Surinder Singh Bhulewal Rathan, SGPC member Dr. Jang Bahadur Singh Rai and international Sikh preacher Giani Balbir Singh Changiara shared Gurmat thoughts with the congregation; shared the pages and pages of the unparalleled martyrdom of Mata Gujar Kaur and the Sahibzadey. They were inspired to take inspiration from the history of the martyrs.
Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira thanked the personalities who arrived at the event and invited the students to take inspiration from the history of the martyrdom of Mata Gujar Kaur and the Sahibzadey. After the end of the event, all the staff and students of various departments participated in the Gurmat Chetna March organized by the college and during this, Dr. Harwinder Kaur, Prof. Raideep Singh, Amritpal Singh, Prof. Baldeep Singh, Prince Singh and Ajit Singh read the Shabad. Milk langar was served for the congregation at Gurdwara Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and Gurdwara Singh Sabha.
At the conclusion of the Gurmat Chetna March at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Giani Balvir Singh Changiyara thanked all the college administrators, staff and students for this initiative. During this, JP Singh, Inj Parvinder Singh, Tarlok Singh Nagpal, Balvir Singh Kaharpuri, Dr. Krishan Badhan, Kuldeep Singh, Baba Satpal Singh Amritsari, Amritpal Singh, Narinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Tarlok Singh Arora, Buta Singh Purewal, staff and students of various departments of the college were present.
