Nawanshahr: December 23 - Today, a protest was held in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on the call of the United Kisan Morcha and a memorandum addressed to the President of the country, Draupadi Murmu, was submitted to the ADC; Addressing the dharna, Kirti Kisan Union state leader Bhupinder Singh Waraich, Bharti Kisan Union Qadian leader Sukhwinder Singh Ballowal, All India Kisan Sabha leader Jujhar Singh, Bharti Kisan Union (Lakhowal) leader Ranjit Singh Ratanda, National Kisan Union leader Nirmal Singh Aujla, Bharti Kisan Union Rajewal leader Santokh Singh, Democratic Kisan Sabha leader Kuldeep Singh Durka said that talks should be held with the forums struggling at Shambhu and Khanauri borders and they should be allowed to go to Delhi immediately.
They expressed concern over the deteriorating health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on a fast to death for his legitimate and legitimate demands; and said that no one has the right to stop him from entering the capital of his country, this is the democratic right of the people. They demanded the immediate withdrawal of the draft National Agriculture Policy; He said that the Centre wants to implement three agricultural laws indirectly, which will not be allowed to happen. He said that India should come out of the World Trade Organization and the Centre should make a law guaranteeing MSP on all crops; the Bharatiya Janata Party government has not fulfilled even one of the promises made during the farmers' agitation, on the contrary, it has adopted a policy of torturing farmers.
He demanded that the 112 farmers arrested in Noida and Greater Noida under Section 109 and who have been kept in Laskar police station for the last 21 days be immediately released and action should be taken against the officials who torturing farmers. He demanded that the farmers and labourers be freed from debt. He strongly condemned the policy of giving electricity to private hands. He said that the BJP is busy handing over agriculture to big corporate houses.
