
Those who sell medicines without a license can face 3 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1 lakh
Hoshiarpur- The court of the Honorable Additional Sessions Judge, Hoshiarpur has sentenced a drug dealer from Hoshiarpur to 3 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1 lakh for selling medicines without a license under the Narcotics and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Sharing information in this regard, the Zonal Licensing Authority Mr. Balram Luthra said that the alleged accused was found selling medicines without a drug license in Hoshiarpur and he could not show the medicine bills. Due to which, in the year 2015, his medicines were seized by taking departmental action under the Drug and Cosmetics Act.

Mr. Balram Luthra said that if a drug seller is found selling medicines without a license or is found violating the Drug and Cosmetics Act or is caught doing business in medicines illegally. If found selling drugs or drugs related to drugs, strict legal action will be taken against him.
He has instructed the drug sellers to keep records of the purchase and sale of their drugs and follow the rules of the Drug and Cosmetic Act. Appropriate departmental action will be taken against those who do not do so.
