Nursing students of Desh Bhagat University took out AIDS awareness rally

Mandi Gobindgarh, December 18- School of Nursing, Desh Bhagat University in collaboration with Community Health Centre (CHC) Amloh took out an awareness rally to celebrate World AIDS Day. The programme was organized under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer (SMO), CHC Amloh Dr. Lajinder Verma, Principal School of Nursing Dr. Lavsampurnjot Kaur and Head Community Health Nursing Department Dr. Prabhjot Singh.

The programme was organized under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer (SMO), CHC Amloh Dr. Lajinder Verma, Principal School of Nursing Dr. Lavsampurnjot Kaur and Head Community Health Nursing Department Dr. Prabhjot Singh.
The programme started with a rally from the college campus to Amloh where students and teachers actively participated in spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS. In this rally, students of B.Sc Nursing 1st semester and GNM 1st year raised effective slogans to spread awareness about AIDS, its prevention and importance of right to health. Vice President of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Harsh Sadavarti on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the students for addressing the serious public health issues.
Awareness poster making competitions were also organized. Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated the dedication and hard work of the students and teachers. They shared their views on the importance of such events to educate the youth and make people aware and take proactive steps against the spread of deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS.
