Garhshankar- Olympian Jarnail Singh Memorial Football Tournament Committee Garhshankar met at the Football Stadium of Khalsa College under the chairmanship of the Executive President of the Committee Dr. Harvinder Singh Bath. Informing about the decisions taken in the meeting, Executive President Dr. Harvinder Singh Bath and General Secretary Balbir Singh Bains said that it has been decided in the meeting to organize the 22nd State Level Olympian Jarnail Singh Memorial Football Tournament from February 8 to February 12.
He said that this time this tournament will be dedicated to Bibi Jasvir Kaur Heer, wife of the founder president of the committee, late Major Singh Mauji and mother of the current president of the committee, Mukhtiar Singh Happy Heer. He further said that while 8 teams each from clubs and colleges will participate in the tournament, 8 teams from the village level will also be included. He said that the teams from Block Garhshankar participating in the rural category can register their names by contacting the committee’s cashiers Yograj Gambhir and Tarlochan Singh Goli till December 31.
He said that 8 rural teams will be selected from these through the qualification round.
