Una, December 13- Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has directed the officials to make an effective action plan for planned development in Una district. He said that the next one year will be a year of competition for development in all the five assembly constituencies of the district.

He said that the next one year will be a year of competition for development in all the five assembly constituencies of the district. Along with competition at the state level, work to make every assembly constituency competitive at the national level in development. The district administration should make a complete plan for this, do at least one or two development works in every gram panchayat of the district in the whole year, which become memorable and can be shown as a great example of development. These works in all the 245 panchayats of the district will change the picture of the district in a year. In this, converge other schemes along with MNREGA.

He was presiding over the meetings of District Planning, Development and 20 Point Program, District Welfare Committee and District Public Grievance Redressal Committee in the District Council Auditorium Una on Friday.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the MNREGA scheme run by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan in the UPA government at the Center has proved to be transformative for the rural economy. Officials should focus on its effective implementation in the district. The Deputy Commissioner should hold a meeting with all the development block officers and Panchayat secretaries and make a clear plan of work and ensure that sustainable and exemplary development work is done in every Gram Panchayat accordingly.

Every Panchayat should have its own land bank

Shri Agnihotri directed the officials to prepare a land bank for every Gram Panchayat of the district. He said that the data should be clear about how much government land is available in the Panchayats, so that it is easy to bring development projects accordingly. He asked to deal strictly with those who encroach on government land on a large scale in the Panchayats.

Previous outstanding amount of water bill will not be recovered

The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials of the Jal Shakti Department not to recover the previous outstanding amount of water bill from any consumer. If by mistake a bill has been sent to someone with outstanding amount, then it should be withdrawn immediately. Officials will not be spared for negligence in this. Only a bill of Rs 100 per month will be taken from the people.

Interests of youth should be protected in industrial units

The Deputy Chief Minister asked to take appropriate steps to protect the interests of the youth working in various industrial units. He directed the Labor Department to ensure that the attitude of industrial establishments of arbitrarily sacking youth from industrial units is stopped.

Zero tolerance on illegal mining, chitta, peepal-banyan cutting

The Deputy Chief Minister directed to adopt zero tolerance on illegal mining, chitta and drug supply and cutting of peepal-banyan trees in the district. He said that the administration should take decisive action without coming under any kind of pressure. The police force should work with full readiness in this.

A casual attitude will not work

Shri Agnihotri instructed the officers not to adopt a casual attitude regarding development works in the district. Do not adopt the tendency of taking time off from work. Every department should do such work which can show change and progress on the ground. He said that the officers should make extra efforts to make proposals for new projects and remove the obstacles in the process of their approval.

He directed the administration to seek explanation for the absence from the officers who were absent in the meetings.

Ancient ponds will be counted in the district, emphasis on conservation
The Deputy Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the district administration not to allow anyone to fill the ancient ponds with soil and level them. He said that water filling in the ponds is important to deal with the problem of falling water level in the area, so conservation of ponds is necessary. He asked to count the number of ancient ponds present in the district and ensure their conservation.

Administration should make strong arrangements to protect potato producers from fraud
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the district administration to make a strong system to protect the interests of potato producers of Una district and to protect them from fraud. Regarding this, the Deputy Commissioner was asked to make a proper plan by holding a meeting with all the stakeholders. He said that the farmers of Una cultivate potatoes on a large scale and there is a bumper yield of potatoes here. The administration should focus on developing a potato-based economy by making a strong system.
He sought details of the status of building construction of newly formed panchayats in the district and directed the officials of the Rural Development Department to regularly visit the field and speed up the construction work.

During this, the non-official members of the committee put forward their various demands and complaints. The Deputy Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to resolve them appropriately.

In the meeting, Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Bablu, Kutlahad MLA Vivek Sharma gave valuable suggestions to speed up the development work. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal assured to ensure strict compliance of all the instructions taken in the meeting. During this, representatives of various Gram Panchayats including Congress leader Ranjit Rana, Ashok Thakur, Dharam Chand Chaudhary, non-official members of committees, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar, all SDMs, all BDOs and other top officials were present.
