Una, December 12: A one-day school safety training program on the subject of disaster management was organized by the 14th Battalion National Disaster Response Force, Nurpur District Kangra, at Government Senior Secondary School Marwari on Thursday. About 173 students, academic and non-academic staff of the school also actively participated in this training program.

During this, Inspector Adesh Kumar, Sub Inspector Avtar Singh and Mohit Singh from NDRF, along with their entire team, informed the children about the mock drill of various relief and rescue measures to save themselves and other people's lives from risk during various types of natural and man-made disasters.
District Training Incharge Rajan Kumar Sharma from Disaster Management Cell of Deputy Commissioner's Office Una said that the children of the school saw, heard and practiced CPR, emergency measures to be taken during fire and flood and first aid treatment etc. through the team. In the program, the NDRF team also presented a medical treatment kit to the disaster management in-charge and members of the disaster management committee of the school so that it can be used immediately during any kind of school related disaster.
On this occasion, the Principal of the school, Nisha Kumari, thanked the NDRF team and the district administration team and called this training program very important for the children; and hoped that the children would be able to save their lives and the lives of others during any disaster in the future.
