Una, December 6: Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal on Friday attended the district level youth festival and science fair organized at Shiksha Bharti B.Ed. College Samurkalan as the chief guest. About 300 students from 10 colleges and 16 senior secondary schools of the district participated in this festival organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Una. During this, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal congratulated the organizers for the successful organization of the district level youth festival and said that such programs prove helpful in the all-round development of students.
The Deputy Commissioner said that youth are the future of the country, and their all-round development is the basis of the strength of our society. Such programs provide a platform to the students to hone their talents. We should motivate the youth to stay away from drugs, because only drug-free youth can build a strong and healthy society. He called upon the youth to not only participate in sports, cultural and social activities but also to play an active role in building a drug-free society.
Pradeep Kumar, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Una, said that cash prizes worth a total of Rs 50 thousand were distributed for the seven competitions organized in the festival.
Awarded in various competitions
Chand Sharma got first place in mobile photography competition, Palak got second place and Bhargav got third place. Krishna group got first place in science and technology project competition, Nikhil group got second place and Prathit group got third place. Vaidehi Sharma got first place in debate competition, Nitin Rana got second place and Tanu Thakur got third place. Amisha got first place in painting competition, Pratyaksh got second place and Palak got third place. Harish got first place in science exhibition, Divya got second place and Aditya Rana got third rank. Nancy group of Amb College got first place in dance competition, Jiya group of B.Ed. College Samurkalan got second place and Aditi group got third rank. Nancy group of Amb College which got first place in dance competition will represent Una district in the upcoming state level competition. Sanchita got first place, Aarti got second place and Simran got third rank in poetry competition.
On this occasion, Director of Shiksha Bharti Educational Society Ishan Thakur, Principal of Shiksha Bharti B.Ed. College Samur Hansraj, District Nodal Officer NSS Dr. Lilly Thakur, District Manager SC ST Corporation Vipin, Accountant Vijay Bhardwaj of Nehru Yuva Kendra Una along with spokespersons and dignitaries from various colleges were present.
