Una, December 5 - District Sainik Welfare Officer Lt. Col. SK Kalia informed that Armed Forces Flag Day will be celebrated on December 7. Armed Forces Flag Day reminds us of the brave martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives or became disabled while protecting the country in many wars.
The Central and State Sainik Boards are working diligently for the rehabilitation of all these families and such disabled soldiers so that such families and soldiers do not become a burden on the society and can live their lives with pride. He said that Flag Day makes the sacred memories of the soldiers memorable and immortal, for whose amazing valor and bravery and indelible sacrifice and martyrdom our state and nation are grateful.
The responsibility of taking care of the families of these martyred soldiers and rehabilitation of disabled soldiers is on us. He informed that the money collected on this day is spent on the families/dependents of the martyred soldiers. He has urged all the district residents to become a part of this day by contributing as per their convenience.
