On the first day, the ritual of offering raft, chadar and flag in the lake was performed under the leadership of Baba Sohan Singh and Surjit Singh Jeeti. Fair promoter Jasvir Singh Sheera Sarangwal contacted everyone and contributed in making the arrangements of this fair smooth.
Former Sarpanch Gurvinder Singh and Sarpanch Gurjit Singh Khaira played an important role in completing all the rituals in a grand manner. Sarpanch Kamaljit Kaur welcomed the Sangat and said that saints teach us the lesson of humanity so that we can maintain mutual brotherhood.
We all fulfill our wishes from this place as Sangat. The demand of the present time is that we re-establish human values ??in our society. The devotees of Khwaja Peer organized an open langar for two days and arranged for a Chhabil. Qawwals and singers also set up an arena for the entertainment of the congregation.
The committee honored the donors from the country and abroad and expressed special gratitude to them. Young administrators Deepa Bains and Billa Bains worked day and night with their entire team. A free medical camp was also organized by Siddh Jogi Trust under the leadership of Dr. Jaswant Singh Thind SMO, in which the entire medical team including Dr. Prabh Heer provided medicines after examination.
They also advised people to eat simple food, so that diseases caused by packaged food items prepared from refined flour can be avoided. Inaugurating the second day of the festival, former Sarpanch Amarel Singh, Niranjan Singh, Amarjit Singh and Kashmir Singh Khaira appealed to the congregation to maintain mutual unity and brotherhood. Qawwal Ali Gopalpuria connected the listeners to the Almighty God with his wonderful Qawwalis.
Stage operators Jassi Mugowal and Avtar Singh introduced the village's new emerging artist Nikku Dhariwal with wonderful words. He received a lot of applause from the audience with his new songs. Among the more than half a dozen artists who participated in the festival, singer Gurjeet Jeeti made the festival more beautiful with his cultural songs.
His quality and contemporary singing proved that people still like good singing. Sufi singer Kanshi Nath won applause with the Kafis of Baba Farid and Sai Bulle Shah. Singers Jaili and Suraj Jhander enthralled the audience with their famous songs. On this occasion, top students of Government Middle School Mahmadwal were honored.
International footballer Harmanjot Singh Khabra from village Kaharpur and Asian record holder cyclist Balraj Singh Chauhan from Hoshiarpur were given special honors. On the occasion of felicitating prominent personalities, Baljinder Mann, born in village Mahmadwal and editor of Nikkiya Karumbalan and author of Shiromani Bal Sahitya, said in his address that fairs give us the message of living together by forgetting our mutual enmity.
