Ambassador of the Czech Republic meets Deputy Commissioner

Mohali: Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Dr. Eliska Zigova today called on Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain at DAC Mohali. She appreciated the initiative of the Deputy Commissioner to make rural women self-reliant by setting up self-help groups at the village level.

Taking a deep impression from the exhibition of various women’s help groups ranging from artificial jewellery to food items and textile based products, she said that this initiative is commendable. And it can also be beneficial for other women who need to form their own group and start small businesses based on home-based business.
She said that the idea of ??empowering women by involving them in such activities is a wonderful one and such initiatives can go a long way in making women economically self-reliant.
Appreciating the initiative to promote socio-economic development and self-reliance among women, he said that these groups will soon be invited to the Czech Embassy in Delhi to showcase their skills at the international level and to promote them.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sonam Chaudhary was also present on the occasion.
