
State government working for cow protection and cow welfare - Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini.
Chandigarh, August 23 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the state government is continuously working for cow protection and cow welfare. Along with providing financial grants for fodder to cowsheds in the state, efforts are being made to make them self-sufficient.

The Chief Minister was addressing the distribution ceremony of four grant amounts to cowsheds in Shri Krishna Gaanshala, Badopal in Fatehabad district on Saturday. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister paid tributes to Rajendranand Maharaj and, calling his life a source of inspiration, appealed to the citizens to take inspiration from his life and continuously carry forward social work.
The Chief Minister gave a message of environmental protection to the people by planting a tree in the name of Mother in the cowshed premises. On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over cheques of Rs 7 crore 2 lakh as fodder grant to the 67 cowsheds of the district to the cowshed managers. He said that this year a total of Rs 88 crore 50 lakh as fodder grant is being released for 605 cowsheds of the state.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to provide Rs 21 lakh for the development of village Badopal and to name the Wildlife Treatment Centre in Badopal after Shri Rajendranand Maharaj. Along with this, the Chief Minister also announced to fulfill the six demands made for Fatehabad assembly constituency after conducting a feasibility check at the departmental level.
At the function, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana, Public Works Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Subhash Barala announced to give Rs 11 lakh each to Gaanshala Badopal.
The Chief Minister said that in the last 11 years, the double engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been working for the protection of cows, Gita and Ganga.
Along with providing financial assistance for fodder to Gaanshalas in the state, help is being given for the purchase of machinery as per the demand to make them self-reliant. Grant amount of Rs 6 crore 50 lakh has been given to 101 Gaanshalas for purchasing machinery for Panchgavya production.
He said that in 10 and a half years, an amount of Rs 358 crore 50 lakh has been given as grant for fodder. Solar power plants have been installed in 330 cowsheds and the work will be started soon in the remaining cowsheds. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has implemented the National Gokul Mission for the protection and promotion of indigenous breed of cows.
The Chief Minister said that till the year 2014, there were one lakh 75 thousand cows in only 215 registered cowsheds in the state. The state government has increased this in the last ten years and currently there are 686 registered cowsheds in the state. In these, 4 lakh helpless cows are being nurtured.
In the year 2014-15, there was a budget of only Rs. 2 crore for the Cow Seva Aayog, which has been increased to Rs. 595 crore by the present government. The state government has given a grant of Rs 10 lakh per cowshed to build sheds in 200 cowsheds for the rehabilitation of the cattle herd. Out of these, sheds have been built and ready in 51 cowsheds. He said that 800 e-rickshaws will be given to the cowsheds. The procurement process for this is underway.
Haryana is contributing to the realization of the dream of a developed India
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has resolved to make India a developed nation by the year 2047. Haryana is making its special contribution towards making a developed India. The state government is implementing schemes for the welfare of the poor and is moving forward strongly towards making the lives of the people simple, due to which Haryana will play an important role in a developed India.
Work done by the state government for the welfare of farmers
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the state government has implemented many schemes for the welfare of farmers. While encouraging farmers to promote natural farming, it is also working to purchase farmers' crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He said that from the year 2004 to 2014, only Rs 1155 crore was given compensation to farmers for crop damage.
While the current government has given Rs 15500 crore as compensation for crop damage from 2014 to 2025. The Chief Minister said that the villages of Fatehabad region where there is a problem of waterlogging and drought will be solved concretely. Work has been started on this. Orders have been given to Hareda to check the capacity of solar pumps.
At the ceremony, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana said that the village is linked to our culture. The village has historical and mythological importance. The milk of the indigenous cow has medicinal properties and the cow has five elements. He said that the sole purpose of organizing this program is also to create public awareness and consciousness among the people towards the service of Mother Cow.
Every house should have a place for the village, with this spirit, citizens should contribute for the protection of cows and the promotion of cows. He praised the work of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini and said that due to the policies of the government, excellent work has been done in the direction of cow protection. The spirit of cow service has developed among the people.
On this occasion, Public Works Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Subhash Barala, MLA Shri Randhir Panihar, former Minister Shri Devendra Babli, Chairman of Haryana Scheduled Commission Professor Ravinder Baliala and a large number of villagers were present.
