Nawanshahr: On the directions of Agriculture Minister Punjab Gurmeet Singh Khudiyan and Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Rajesh Dhiman and the instructions of Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Rajinder Kumar Kamboj, under the campaign launched to provide quality fertilizers and seeds to the farmers for the Rabi season crops in the district, surprise checking was done of various dealers in the district
Nawanshahr: On the directions of Agriculture Minister Punjab Gurmeet Singh Khudiyan and Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Rajesh Dhiman and the instructions of Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Rajinder Kumar Kamboj, under the campaign launched to provide quality fertilizers and seeds to the farmers for the Rabi season crops in the district, surprise checking was done of various dealers in the district and 18 samples of fertilizers and 48 samples of seeds were collected, which have been sent to the laboratory for testing.
On this occasion, Dr. Rajinder Kumar Kamboj appealed to the farmers that the farmer should not purchase any agricultural inputs from any unauthorized person, be it a dealer or a farmer, without a bill and also instructed the dealers that no dealer should tag the farmers with fertilizers in any way, must issue bills for agricultural inputs to the farmers and sell fertilizers only through POS machines.
Legal action will be taken against the dealers violating these instructions under the Fertilizer Control Order 1985 and the Essential Commodities Act 1955. On this occasion, Dr. Laxman Das Agriculture Officer Banga, Dr. Vijay Maheshi Agriculture Development Officer (Enforcement) and Jaswinder Kumar Agriculture Development Officer were present with him.
