Meeting held regarding Mission Vatsalya and Foster Care Scheme

Una, November 27: Under Mission Vatsalya, widowed women, abandoned women, children of parents suffering from serious illness, more than 70 percent disabled and children of parents unable to raise their children are given the benefit of foster care scheme. A total of 2468 children in the district are being given the benefit of sponsorship and foster care scheme.

A total of 2468 children in the district are being given the benefit of sponsorship and foster care scheme. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal in a meeting held regarding Mission Vatsalya. He said that earlier 1406 children were being benefited under sponsorship and foster care scheme. Under this scheme, 1184 new cases have been approved in the district. Under the Foster Care Scheme, financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per month is provided for the education, health and upbringing of children. Apart from this, 122 children have been excluded from this scheme after completing 18 years of age.
On this occasion, District Child Protection Officer Kamaldeep Singh, CWC Chairperson Meenakshi Rana, Prem Ashram School Principal Sister Sanjana, Abhimanyu Kapoor and others were present.
