Arrangements complete for swearing-in of 1924 Panches of SAS Nagar district on Tuesday

SAS Nagar, November 18, 2024: The district administration is fully prepared to conduct the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Panches of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar tomorrow, Tuesday. This was revealed by Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain while reviewing the ongoing preparations at the Open Ground (Saras Mela Ground) of Sector 88, near Manav Mangal School, Mohali.

SAS Nagar, November 18, 2024: The district administration is fully prepared to conduct the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Panches of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar tomorrow, Tuesday. This was revealed by Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain while reviewing the ongoing preparations at the Open Ground (Saras Mela Ground) of Sector 88, near Manav Mangal School, Mohali.
Giving more information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Jain said that a total of 1924 Panches of the newly elected Gram Panchayats have been invited to take the oath of office during this ceremony. A total of four sitting blocks have been made for the Panches from Mohali, Derabassi, Kharar and Majri blocks.
She said that the oath of office will be administered by the Punjab Public Works Department and Power Minister Sardar Harbhajan Singh ETO at 11:00 am on Tuesday. MLAs and other prominent personalities have also been invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony.
He assigned various responsibilities to the officers present there for the smooth conduct of this prestigious event and asked them to closely monitor the seating, parking and other arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner said that after administering the oath to the Sarpanches during the state level function held in Ludhiana, the Punjab government had decided to conduct the oath-taking ceremony of the Panches of different districts at the district level so that they could be made responsible for their position. He said that after taking the formal oath, the Gram Panchayats will formally start working, which will give a big boost to the development works at the village level.
The officers present in the review meeting were ADC (J) Viraj S Tidke, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, SP (Traffic) HS Mann, Assistant Commissioner (General) Dr Ankita Kansal, District Development and Panchayat Officer Baljinder Singh Grewal and other officers.
