The evil of drugs is destroying the dreams of many parents: Upkar Society

Nawanshahr - An awareness seminar and rally on social evils were organized during the NSS camp held at the local government ITI. First of all, Rajinder Kumar, on behalf of the organization, welcomed the guests and audience who had arrived at the seminar. The seminar was addressed by Principal Omkar Singh, JS Gidda, Pravinder Singh Jassomjara, Des Raj Bali, Joga Singh Sadhra and Rajinder Kumar. In their addresses, the speakers discussed the causes and harms of the spread of two social evils, female foeticide and the deadly trend of drugs, and the need to build a broad public movement with the mutual cooperation of governments, social service organizations and parents to eradicate them. Principal Umkar Singh pledged to fulfill his duties with full dedication as the principal. JS Gidda said in his address that this district has come to the first position in Punjab by registering 962 daughters for every 1,000 sons under the age of one year.
With the evil of drugs, the population of one lakh is approaching. Principal Parvinder Singh Jassomjara told the tragic story of a young woman whose husband dies and she refuses her parents for a second marriage for the sake of her only son and her son gets addicted to drugs and loses his life. And the words of the mother standing near his coffin were not being heard.
He inspired the youth to avoid drugs and said that parents have many beautiful dreams which should not be broken. On this occasion, students Sapna Rani, Karan and Rajdeep shared awareness messages about social evils. From the Upkar Society, JS Gidda, Parvinder Singh Jassomjara, Des Raj Bali, Joga Singh Sadhra, Omkar Singh Mehndipur, Vasdev Pardesi, Madam Harbans Kaur, Jyoti Bagga, Shama Malhan, Mahinderpal were present.
From ITI, Principal, Ajay Kumar, Surinderjit Singh, Urmiljit Kaur, Harminder Kaur, Rajinder Kumar, Ranjit Verma, Dev Mitra, Parminderjit, Hapana Prihar, NSS Incharge Jatinder Katal, Happy Manoj, Manohar Lal, Kulbhushan Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Vasdev Mall and Harbans were present. On this occasion, the Upkar Coordination Society was honored by the Principal and staff. The Upkar Society honored Principal Omkar Singh Mehndipur, Rajinder Kumar and Jatinder Katal.
