Hoshiarpur: Under the awareness campaign for stubble management being conducted by PAU-Krishi Science Centre, Bahowal, a program was organized at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Paddi Sura Singh, Block Garhshankar on proper management of paddy stubble. During this awareness program, while interacting with the students, Associate Director Dr. Maninder Singh Bowns gave detailed information about the need to handle paddy straw and various techniques.
He also explained in detail about the damage caused by burning stubble and the importance of various elements present in stubble. He introduced the students about paddy straw management machinery and also shared information about the use of paddy straw in biogas plant, cardboard industry and mushroom production and as fertilizer, fertilizer and animal feed. They motivated the students to participate in various competitions of this school campaign and also mobilized to take this noble message of straw conservation from house to house.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra also organized speech, essay writing and painting competitions to create awareness among students about the harm caused by burning paddy stubble. The students participated in all the competitions. The winners of various competitions were also honored by the guests to encourage the students.
An awareness rally was also organized by the students of the school regarding the bad effects of paddy stubble management and burning on the environment, land health and humanity. Various Competitions made Under the supervision of Krishi Science Center Staff, Assistant Professor Dr. Ajaib Singh, Program Assistant Sunita, Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Lambra Staff, Avinash Kaur, Lecturer Rajni, Lecturer Paramjit Kaur, Lecturer, Ritumohinder Kaur Punjabi Mistress and Science Mistress Rajdeep Kaur. The program was moderated by Science Master Gurinder Singh and he also appreciated the students for their full participation in this entire program.
