On this occasion, he instructed the officials to ensure proper purchase of paddy coming in the markets and lifting should be done with full capacity. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Navreet Kaur Sekhon was also present in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner, taking a close look at the paddy coming in every market of the district and the lifting being done, instructed the officials that the lifting can be done more quickly in the markets. The officers themselves should be present there to speed up the work. He directed the officials to visit various markets.
Dr. Preeti Yadav, giving the details of the purchase so far, said that till yesterday, 1040262 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the markets of Patiala district. Out of which 1030803 metric tons of paddy has been purchased And the farmers have been paid Rs 2286.70 crore which is 100 percent.
He said that among the purchased paddy, 464346 metric tons were purchased by Pangrain, 250195 metric tons by Markfed, 193022 metric tons by PNSP, 119928 metric tons by PSWC, 2600 metric tons by FCI and 712 metric tons by traders.
He said that the lifting of paddy is also being done rapidly in the markets and till last day 752354 metric tons of paddy has been lifted. And about 55 thousand metric tons are being lifted daily and compared to this, the arrival of paddy in the markets is now less than half and last day 26265 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the markets.
