Nawanshahr - Fed up with the lax policy of the Punjab government towards computer teachers, which came to power by giving the slogan of change, a flag march will be organized against the Punjab government on 9 November under the leadership of State President Gurwinder Singh Tarn Taran to get the legitimate and valid demands of computer teachers, who have been exploited for 19 years, accepted in Dera Baba Nanak (Gurdaspur) constituency.
Because even after several meetings with Education Minister Punjab Harjot Singh Bains, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and the sub-committee of the Punjab government, the legitimate and pending demands of computer teachers are not being resolved.
As per the notification of the Honorable Governor of Punjab in July 2011, computer teachers were regularized under the Punjab Civil Services in the Picts Society formed under the Education Department of the then government; but till date this notification has not been fully implemented on computer teachers. The leaders of the organization said that the Sixth Pay Commission, Dearness Allowance, ACP and other financial benefits of computer teachers have been forcibly stopped, which should be implemented immediately, while all other employees of Punjab have been given the above benefits. But computer teachers are being treated step-motherly.
However, on September 15, 2022, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains had announced several times in newspapers, social media and on various platforms of Aam Aadmi Party to give benefits to computer teachers on the occasion of Diwali; which remained only an announcement, which has not been implemented practically till date. During the protest, exploitation for 19 years will be publicized. It is worth mentioning that the Punjab government has not taken care of the families of about 100 computer teachers who have died during the job, neither has given jobs to their dependents nor has given any financial benefits.
Due to this, during the rally, this aspect of the Punjab government will be exposed in front of the general public and the face of the anti-computer teacher Punjab government will be presented. If the issues of computer teachers are not resolved soon, a rally will be held on November 16 at Gidderbaha (Sri Muktsar Sahib), the entire responsibility of which will be of the Punjab government. During the rally, all computer teachers from across Punjab as well as a large number of leaders will participate.
In this regard, an important meeting was held in District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar under the leadership of State Co-Secretary Rajwinder Lakha and District President Harjinder Singh. In which computer teachers from all districts participated in large numbers and a large number of people from the district gathered to reach this rally. At this time Surinder Sehjal, Harwinder Kumar, Satinder, Rajinder Basra, Virinder Bakshi, Surinder Soni, Vasudev, Lakhwinder Singh, Raman Kumar, Shama Rani, Ranjit Kaur and Shavina were present.
