10 crores were released to the city, with which the municipal corporation purchased 2 mechanical sweeping machines and the city's A category roads are being cleaned by the municipal corporation with these machines. At the time of flagging off these machines in August 2024, the constituency MLA assured the city residents that Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to uplifting the standard of living of the people of Punjab, under which 2 more mechanical sweeping machines will be provided to Mohali city soon.
According to his promise, the constituency MLA today gave the green signal to install 2 more mechanical sweeping machines in the service of the city residents.
Speaking on this occasion, the Constituency MLA said that now the Municipal Corporation has got its own 4 mechanical sweeping machines, with which all the A and B roads of the city will be cleaned through mechanical machines. Along with this, while answering the questions of the media, Kulwant Singh said that he will try to arrange some small machines to clean the 'C' type roads in the city mechanically and also to clean the city. The Chief Minister will also request Punjab if necessary to provide funds etc. for making it world class.
Responding to the question of holding the Punjab government responsible by the party holding the power of the municipal corporation for the problem of removing the garbage from the city, the constituency MLA said that the responsibility of cleanliness of the city lies with the municipal corporation, due to which in the city The officials of the municipal corporation are responsible for the piles of garbage and they are spreading rubbish to hide their failure, but the people of Mohali know that in this way the present office bearers of the municipal corporation have failed to fulfill their responsibilities.
While congratulating the residents of the city, the MLA said that Mohali is the only city in Punjab which has these mechanical sweeping machines. Also, the MLA appealed to the city residents that the city residents should also contribute to keeping the city clean and not to throw the garbage of their houses on the roads, parks and other open places.
