Patiala, December 26- The 83rd session of 'Indian History Congress' is being held at Punjabi University from 28 to 30 December. This is the fourth time that the session of 'Indian History Congress' is being held at Punjabi University, Patiala. Earlier it was organized in 1967, 1998 and 2011. Indian History Congress Secretary Prof Syed Ali Nadeem Rezavi said that Indian History Congress is the largest organization of professional historians in the entire South Asia. Its membership list is in thousands and it covers almost the entire subcontinent.

Patiala, December 26- The 83rd session of 'Indian History Congress' is being held at Punjabi University from 28 to 30 December. This is the fourth time that the session of 'Indian History Congress' is being held at Punjabi University, Patiala. Earlier it was organized in 1967, 1998 and 2011. Indian History Congress Secretary Prof Syed Ali Nadeem Rezavi said that Indian History Congress is the largest organization of professional historians in the entire South Asia. Its membership list is in thousands and it covers almost the entire subcontinent.
He said that the three-day session of 'Indian History Congress' will include presentation of research papers under 6 sections. He said that so far more than 1037 research papers have been received which will be read in these sessions during these three days. Apart from these sections, the 'SC Mishra Memorial Lecture' will also be a part of this Congress which will be delivered by Prof. Yogesh Snehi.
Prof. Mohammad Idris from Punjabi University, who is the local secretary of this session, said that this session of the 'Indian History Congress' is also holding a special panel on the history and culture of the region where it is being organized. It is titled 'Punjab: Past and Present', in which about a dozen speakers will participate. Several awards and prizes will also be given away during the inaugural ceremony.
