Chabewal Vidhan Sabha by-election- second randomization of polling staff held in the presence of the General Observer

Hoshiarpur - On the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the second randomization of polling staff in view of Chabewal Assembly by-election took place today at the NIC District Administration Complex office in the presence of General Observer 2011 batch IAS officer Tapas Kumar Bagchi.

Finalizing the second randomization of polling personnel, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer Rahul Chaba said that orders regarding the duty of polling personnel will be handed over to the heads of the concerned departments. He informed that polling staff duty has been assigned for the by-election by combining the staff data of 205 polling booths of Assembly constituency 044 Chabewal.
He said that 1044 polling staff have been deployed for the constituency, out of which 261 PROs, 261 APROs and 522 POs have been appointed. He said that the said polling personnel will play an important role in completing the polling process. While giving instructions, he said that polling parties have been formed and dispatched for Chabbewal assembly constituency. He informed that the rehearsal of the polling personnel will be held on November 3, 2024 in two shifts at 9 am and 1 pm.
Rahul Chaba asked the polling personnel to perform their duty with full dedication and honesty. He said that the polling personnel should be proud that they are becoming a part of the election system. He informed that the polling for the Chabbewal assembly by-election will be held on November 13, 2024 and the counting of votes will be done on November 23, 2024. He informed that the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 30, 2024.
He said that the district administration will leave no stone unturned to conduct the by-election in a fair and transparent manner. He said that while an MCMC committee is being formed to monitor paid news, prompt action is being taken on complaints of violation of the Model Code of Conduct through the C-Vigil app. He said that violation of the Model Code of Conduct will not be tolerated at any cost. On this occasion, DIO Pradeep Singh, Election Tehsildar Sarabjit Singh, Deputy DEO Dheeraj Vashisht and other officers were also present.
